Many updates

Thursday, December 19, 2013 // 4 comments

So after reading Kim's blog, I finally decided to blog about my life again lol. I was really lazy over the past few months to keep this blog alive, so forgive me please.

School ended on November 15 and I went for Megan Nicole's concert that evening. It was a memorable experience because not only did I get to see her perform live, but I got to meet her as well! I dragged my good friend Liz along with me to attend this concert, and we ended up buying the meet-and-greet passes as well haha. I approached her with a hug and I was really awestruck to see her up close! She is beyond flawless and is extremely beautiful! Apart from her, I also got to meet her really cute drummer and sister! It was a blissful and amazing night. :-)

On November 17 I participated in Singapore's Run for Hope marathon. Even though I was so enthusiastic to run when I registered, I was reluctant to finish the 10km run the day before because I was having a sore throat and was worried that it would get worse. Thankfully I managed to finish running the very very long 10km in 1 hour 20 minutes! #achievementunlocked haha, it may not be a good timing but I'm satisfied with it because it was my first marathon and I'm just glad it was under 2 hours lol.

The next week, my class and I volunteered for The Soup Kitchen. It's a non-governmental organisation that prepares and serves food for the needy people. I learnt a lot in these 5 days, from chopping vegetables to frying/peeling tons of eggs to packing food and even sending these food to them! I still remember the happy faces the elderly gave us when they saw our van approaching their block. It was definitely a meaningful experience. :-) I would love to go back again someday!

After a hectic week I went back to Malaysia for a week and headed to Hong Kong and Macau after that!
Hong Kong is a small place with cooling weather, but my skin couldn't really adapt to it. It was too dry. :-(
I preferred Macau because the hotel rooms were way more spacious and the Portuguese egg tarts! Omg I really loved eating them, I wish we could bring them back here but it's not allowed. :-(

After I came back from Hong Kong, I had only two days of rest before heading to my church's Youth Camp 2013. I came down with a cold once I reached Singapore so I couldn't enjoy myself to the fullest in the first two days. I even had to miss the second day to rest at home. :/

So throughout these four days, we played an Angel-Mortal activity. Each person is given a mortal to take of, so that means each one of us has an angel who will take care of us. When I say "take care", I mean by sending letters of encouragement or small gifts like sweets to your mortal.

I gotta admit, at first I was pretty bummed that I was the oldest member in my team. Like really, even my team leader was younger than me. My partner for every activity was a 13 year old girl lol, can you imagine how awkward and out of place I felt? So naturally I expected my angel to be someone younger than me, and I didn't expect my angel to send me gifts/notes everyday. To my surprise, he did way more than what I expected. I was really touched by his small yet very sweet notes and really thankful that God made me his mortal. :')
We were all supposed to reveal ourselves on the last day of camp, and when he approached me I got the shock of my life. He was the same age as me and he's entering NS next year! I was really shocked and because of it I think it made our meeting awkward lol.

It was my first time joining a church camp and I'm really glad I had fun! Not to forget the many friendships forged throughout the four days. I'm very blessed to be in an awesome CG and team!
I can't wait for many more church events in the future! :-)

Back on a more personal note, I finally managed to wear contacts! Woohooooooooo it took me like 40 minutes at my first try hahahaha I'm so glad I could do it! :D

Oh wow this is a long post, hope you were entertained.
toodles x

In a mood to write.

Thursday, August 29, 2013 // 0 comments

I am a terrible owner because I have abandoned this lovely blog of mine. Hah.

What's up, everyone? (that is if I still have any readers here.)
I stumbled upon my blog a few days ago and felt that I should make an update, and since I'm in a mood to write now... why not update you guys on my life so far?

My birthday just passed, well not just, it was three weeks ago. I had a great birthday, I wasn't expecting much because I didn't feel special to turn eighteen. All my friends were like, "so how's it like turning eighteen?" and i gave them a short reply, "it feels normal actually. no difference really."

Yes, I know eighteen is a legal age in Singapore.
Yes, I know i can drive now.
Yes, I can drink alcohol whenever I feel like it.
Yet somehow I feel that I hold more responsibilities now.

I went bowling with my clique and we had fun. They surprised me when I went to meet them, I was really surprised haha. Apparently I was taken aback and didn't know what to do when they shoved the cake right in front of me. The best part is... it was chocolate cake! Hahaha you know me and my love for chocs.

My lovely presents from Grace, Wanzhen and Liz. I'm very touched by the cards they gave me. :')

I recently finished reading The Fault of Our Stars by John Green and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.
Both books contain a character dealing with cancer, so I would say they are very dark and profound.
I cried after reading Green's book, but not Picoult's even though her story line was more touching. Maybe cause I read it after reading Green's book so I was kinda used to the sadness.

I gotta say Picoult's way of writing is extremely descriptive and talented. She's able to let us view the perspective of the different characters, allowing us to be stuck in this zone of conflicting feelings, not knowing which side to pick and whose side to stay on. I did cry when I watched the movie though, even though the story line was slightly different, I still managed to cry a few times throughout the movie.

I would give The Fault of Our Stars an 8/10 and My Sister's Keeper a 9/10. I strongly recommend these books to those who are very emotional and love to read. :-)

I don't think I want to blog about my college life, it's practically the same thing.
Struggle, study, fail, improve, fail again, .... and the cycle goes on.
But I won't give up.

Alright I need to revise macro econs now, goodbye x

Catching up.

Hi guys!

I'm not sure if there are still people reading this blog but i'll blog once in awhile haha.
A lot has happened in the past four months, both good and bad. College life is as hectic as ever and I'm always depending on God to give me the strength to push on and persevere. I honestly do not know what i would do without him.

Speaking of which, I finally had the courage to join a Life Change Group (LCG) in my church. I've been attending bible studies with them and it's really awesome, it's like I'm getting to know God more and more every week! Ahhhhh :)

Remember my orientation group, Selectra? Well, all of us have drifted apart, but I've managed to stay close to a few of them. We still organise birthday surprises and when we do, it feels like we're a family again.

Besides, I've also bonded well with my classmates, we even have our own class jacket! How cool is that? Mr Alfie, our civics tutor, even managed to get us a permanent air-conditioned classroom. He is seriously the best GP/PW/CT tutor anyone can ever have!

Sports Day 2013 just ended a few days ago and I'm extremely proud to say that Sagittarius has won 2nd place! We've always been 4th in the past 8932 years but this year we managed to grab 2nd place! Thank God for our batch hahaha.

I guess that's all for now, I'm sorry for abandoning this blog. College is extremely busy and i just... :/

See you later, xx.

Peer pressure.

Sunday, February 24, 2013 // 2 comments

When college started, i had my priorities set straight. I wanted to study harder than i did for O levels, so I can do well for A's and enter a local university. Unfortunately, some things happened in the past few weeks and I would say i kind of.. lost myself?

In the past week, i have been bonding a lot with my group mates in Selectra. We talked a lot in our whatsapp group and we went out for an outing last Friday. The thing is... even though i studied and played with them, i still wonder if it was the right thing to do. Would it be more productive if I studied alone? Would it be better for me if I didn't watch the movie at 9pm with them? My body would've healed much faster if I were to immediately go home once school ended. :/

It was then i realised... how powerful peer pressure is. I rarely succumbed to peer pressure in my secondary school days because I knew what I wanted and I would push everything aside just to achieve my goal. Of course there were other exceptions, eg. it was peer pressure that got me into becoming a K-pop fan. Did I regret it back then? No, but now? Yes.

Why, throughout my entire life, did I have to face this issue now? Was it because I wanted to fit in? I know previously I mentioned that I really felt like I belong in Selectra, could it be because I didn't want to feel rejected again? I missed out on a lot in secondary school because I didn't want to succumb to peer pressure. However, now I feel like there's too much to do in my social life... :-(

I spent the entire day yesterday wondering how I can balance my social life and my academic studies. I even questioned God if this was a test for me. I didn't want to fail my exams, and I most certainly do not want to miss out on enjoyable things with my friends. The only way now is for me to take things one step at a time, i guess? Study when I'm in school and at home, and occasionally talk to my friends when I'm free. :-)

I can never thank God enough for giving me such great friends in Innova JC. <3 div="">
Even though all of us are now split into different classes, I still hope we can all be close until the end of our two years in college. :-)

Speaking of which, I recently got to know my class! There are 7 boys and 20 girls lol I feel like i'm in a girls' school. :/
I have yet to know them so I do hope for the best! ;)

Orientation!

Tuesday, February 12, 2013 // 0 comments

School started a week ago and i had my first ever College Orientation! Woohoo! I'm hyped up now because i feel so fresh and new to start my new life in college! It's a new beginning for everyone, i would say. :-)

I was pretty nervous on the first day of school (well, who wouldn't be?), i reached early so i was the first person in line of my Star Group (SG), Selectra. I'm in the Green House, aka Sagittarius, and all of us are divided into SGs. Each SG has a very unique name, and mine happened to be Selectra. Yeah, it's a weird name but i grew fond of it after the five days i spent with my group. ^^

I met a few friends, most of them are Malaysians. I was really shocked when one of the members in my group, Jesline, was from Penang! :O I talked to her and i realised both of us have the same beliefs, such as our religion and the reason behind our ambitions. It feels so great to meet someone who shares the same background as you as well as the same beliefs. And we share the same eye candy as well, hahahaha oops!
The sad thing is... she's in the science stream whereas i'm in the arts... So we won't be in the same class. :-(
I'm seriously keeping my fingers crossed that she and I will end up in the same CCA lol i don't want us to drift apart. I hate it when that happens. :/

Jesline, Zac and I on campfire night!

The thing i remember most about Orientation is that I felt like i really belong in Innova. When we played the ice-breakers we saw a few other people from Sagittarius being punished on stage. They had to dance, and I was really shocked all the Star Group Leaders (SGLs) joined in with them. When they danced, their moves were all in sync oh gosh my jaw literally dropped when i saw the entire thing haha. It was just superb!!!

All the SGLs were like all rounders okay, i'm NOT kidding. They were so outgoing and loud and funny and nerdy and just ahhhhhh! Finally I see people who were like me when I was in secondary school, but even better! I also found out that the entire orientation programme was planned and carried out by the SGLs, that was what made me love the school even more. The fact that the teachers treat us as adults is just awesome!

Another highlight of the orientation is the mass dance. It was extremely fun!!! I have always loved dancing so i had -coughs- no trouble -coughts- learning the moves. We had a mass dance which requires a partner of the opposite gender, and an individual mass dance. I was a bit uncomfortable with the partner dance at first because it involved a lot of hand holding, spinning, etc., but as the days went on i found myself loving it more and more! The individual dance was unique because during the bridge each house had a special dance move, and Sagittatius's dance involved the gangnam style OTL. Ahhhhhh i loved the mass dances so much omg.

Last but not least, the campfire was the best. We had to learn a number of dances for the campfire performance within a day, it was tiring and stressful, but we had a lot of laughs along the way.
I remember when the teachers left, all the house captains led us in another cheer war, the music blasted through the speakers and i really felt like I was in a club lol. I literally threw myself into the music and grooved along with my friends lol oh gosh i wanna go back to that night again. :-(

Go Selectra!!!! ZOOOOM!

Abigail (the girl in the middle holding the flag) is the cutest SGL ever!

Lol it took us so long to pose for the running shot above, but we didn't win the contest. :-(

There are more photos but my phone's currently being repaired so I can't receive them through whatsapp at all. Will update soon if I'm not too lazy lol.

Alright i'm off to prepare for school tomorrow, i hope everyone has had a great Chinese New Year! ^^

Results.

Friday, January 11, 2013 // 3 comments

I took my O level results yesterday, and i'm not gonna sugarcoat it, i was very unhappy and dissatisfied with it. Even though Ms Tan smiled at me because i did "well enough", i could see the sympathy she and the other teachers felt for me.

I studied like mad and i tried so hard, all the sacrifices i made was pure torture to me. I have always been consistent in my work, and i scored top in the cohort for consecutively three years. Yet somehow, for some reason... i didn't do well enough for my O levels.

Sure, most of my friends said i've done better than them, and the fact that i am able to enter at least five colleges in Singapore with my results is better than not being able to enter a single college at all. I managed to save so much of my parents' money to pay for my education fees in college, since i wouldn't have to go Malaysia or any other country to take the A levels.

However, i was still disappointed in myself. I know my IQ is average and i know i have worked extra hard for my exams, yet somehow life decided to surprise me. I cried when my teachers comforted me and i felt the sympathy they had for me. I'm glad that i did well for certain subjects, subjects that i have put extra effort in to score that A, like staying back in school on Saturdays to consult Ms Chee, or writing extra essays for Ms Eng to correct. I was extremely glad that my hard work paid off for those subjects.

As for the other subjects, i got big fat B's. Even the A's i scored in the Math and Science subjects for the past four years failed to show up on my O level result slip. How pathetic. All of us are really victims of the stupid bell curve. If you don't know what a bell curve is, click here to read about it.

Overall, my cohort performed worse than the previous one. The top student this year, Dawn, who scored an L1R5 of 12 points, did not manage to beat the aggregate (9 points) of the top student last year. I'm extremely proud of Dawn though, i remember how stressed she felt when she saw my results in Prelim 1 and 2. Haha how cute. In the end she managed to beat my score! I'm really proud of her. :')

For the L1R5 system, the lower points you score, the better.
My target was to score less than 10 points, but to no avail. :(

I had a long talk with my mom yesterday, (i still have yet to talk to my dad because i was too ashamed so i went to sleep before he came home) and she told me that she and my dad worried so much that i couldn't go into a local college in Singapore. I was actually shocked to hear that hahahaahah, then i remembered my first goal when i was in Secondary 1. I wanted to go into the express stream to take O levels and to enter a junior college in Singapore. Hahahahaah i wonder what made me change my goal.

A lot of my other friends said my score was good, considering the fact that i didn't complete my primary education and i jumped from the Normal Academics stream to the Express stream... I can't say i disagree with them. :)

I'm a religious person, and after much thinking last night, i really do believe this was all part of God's plan.

There goes another chapter of my life. I guess all i can do now is focus on the A levels, work hard and do my best to enter a local university! (given the standards here, i doubt i can but i'll never know until i try)

I'm actually excited to start college! New friends and new teachers, i can't wait to see what God has in plan for me! :)

Graduation

Monday, December 17, 2012 // 0 comments

I was highly inspired by Kim's blog posts so i decided to revive my blog again with proper updates.
I seriously think i have commitment issues because i promised to update regularly after O's but i abandoned it again for the 2893382475898374282100000th time. I'm so sorry for being a failed blogger OTL.

Graduation day was the most memorable day in my life. I was selected to represent my class in giving a graduation speech, it was similar to but not as grand and honourable compared to a valedictorian speech.

I had a lot of trouble writing it so i approached my English teacher, Ms Eng. She was a great help and i told her i was extremely nervous to present it. Even though i had given 12394 speeches in front of the whole school before, this speech was very meaningful to me because this time i really wrote it with my heart and i was kind of scared that my school mates would judge me for my words.

I was the third person to give my speech, so the speeches given by the previous two people really affected me deeply. The entire morning all of us were really sad, and my friends were really quiet because we finally realised that we won't be studying together anymore as a class. So when my name was called, my hands and legs shook like mad and i was sure that the blood drained from my face. I looked extremely pale.

"Four years have passed......" I began.
The moments of pent-up sadness dissolved into tears that started rolling uncontrollably down my cheeks. I struggled to stay calm, so i turned around, allowing the audience to see my back. Ms Eng came over and encouraged me to continue, then suddenly all my school mates cheered for me and clapped loudly. I then turned around and continued my speech.

My speech was heartwarming, but there was a bit of sarcasm in it hahahaha. I was glad the audience laughed, but i am sorry to Mr Ng if i accidentally humiliated him with his speech. Oh well, i've graduated! Hahahahaha.

Looking back, why did i even cry? Was it because i was too nervous? Or was it because i was really upset that all of us would never be learning together as a cohort anymore? My only guess is it was a combination of both..

Throughout the last few months, many many interesting things happened.
I became close friends with people whom i never thought i would ever mix with, the teachers treated us food everyday. We laughed, A LOT, especially me because i've always loved to laugh.

Basically... studying for O levels became our common goal. I even went back to school on Saturdays just to consult Ms Chee for two hours.
I remember staying back in school for night study with Jon, Nisa and Brydon. Sure we were tired, but it was worth it! :)

O levels were over so fast and i can't believe it's halfway through December already! Wow.

Alright i guess that's all for today, will blog about my trip to Malaysia tomorrow! Hopefully, hehe.

Distinction.

Friday, August 17, 2012 // 0 comments

I can never thank God enough for blessing me.
For the past 3 months, i regretted for not working hard enough. And i kept thinking that i'll get a B3.

Instead, after so long, i finally got a distinction for Chinese.

What was surprising was that my Chinese oral exam was a merit, not a distinction. Yet my overall grade was an A2. Was it luck? Or was it hard work? Considering the fact that oral exams are worth 25% of the entire grade.

I cried when Ms Luo shook my hand, i've never been this happy before in my entire life.

Congrats to all who achieved their goal.
That's 7 more distinctions for me to score. Must continue to persist and work hard.

Thankfully, my English oral exam went well yesterday. The examinors were very friendly!

Continue to persevere, Steph. Only two more months to go. :)

past vs present.

3 years ago.. (2009)

2 years ago... (2010)

and yesterday...

12 years of friendship with the most awesome person ever, Kimberly Wong! :-)

From shopping to having a drink and catching up with each other for 2 hours non-stop, a visit to the Harry Potter Exhibition and having dinner with her family, i'm seriously thankful for having such a great best friend like you. ❤

We were 5 years young when we first met, and look at us now, turning 17 this year! Oh how i wish time would just stop.

Where we came from.

Saturday, March 3, 2012 // 0 comments

Our final level camp was held over the past few days in school. The activities we went through together as a class & cohort was truly meaningful, not forgetting a lot of fun, of course!

It was basically a study camp, whereby all of us attend an Adam Khoo's Workshop. The founder, Adam Khoo, is known for his motivational talks & workshops which students attend. Rich parents pay thousands of dollars to send their kids for his workshops every year just to learn the study skills, apply it in their lives, and eventually excel in their examinations.
For me, the school subsidized the payment for us, so we only have to pay about a few hundred dollars to attend this.

Through this camp, i learnt more about myself. I got to know myself better, in terms of my strengths and weaknesses. For instance, i'm actually an auditory learner. There are three types of learners- visual, auditory and kinesthetic. If you want to find out which is your preferred style of learning, click here to find out! :)

The tips they taught us are extremely useful as well! Such as time management and note-making skills. I gotta say, in the past i used to hate making mind maps, i preferred to make notes via point form. After attending this workshop, i personally feel that making mindmaps is actually the best way to memorise things, especially content for science and humanities subjects.
As for time management, they gave me a better idea on how to actually manage my study & revision time, like when exactly should i revise, how many times i should do it, when to practice, so on and so forth. Right now i'm hoping i can actually apply the skills. I've already bought my weekly planner today, just gotta learn how to use it right! ;)

The seniors who've attended this workshop warned us that the things they say will make us cry, literally. And it's usually on the second day. I believed them, and initially i wanted to prove the trainers wrong. On the second day i kept waiting and waiting for them to tell us sad stories and make us cry. In the end, i did cry. (so much for proving them wrong, very smart, Steph, very very smart)
Even the boys cried lol, i got a shock that the boys in front of me cried before I did.
Some of the toughest boys i know wiped their tears away, sobbed really hard, and the sniffles omg, i wanted to laugh but the background music was so sad, it made me cry again OTL.

If you're wondering how in the world they managed to make the whole cohort cry, here's how.
The trainer started off with asking us to tell him the problems we're facing that cause us to not excel in our studies. I kept quiet, cause i thought those problems were lame excuses.
It got pretty boring cause he started talking about his secondary school days as a class joker, so many people started to fall asleep and stuff like that.

Then it got worse.

He started screaming and shouting at us for not giving 100% in whatever we were doing, including listening to him talk. Then the background music totally changed to some really sad piano song in F minor.. He started talking about how he lost his dad at the age of 20 and when he was telling the story he cried. His voice was literally shaking, and because of the background music, the whole atmosphere was just really sad.

It affected all of us, real bad. Then he started talking about losing your loved ones, and then the tears started flowing down our cheeks.....

To be frank i think this is hypnotism. Seriously it's like if it wasn't for the background music, most of us wouldn't have cried lol.

On the last day of the camp, we had an appreciation ceremony for our parents. We were given a choice to go up on stage and say what we want to say to our parents and teachers.
So most of them started going up and shared in front of the school about their life story and their promises to work hard this year, etc.

I felt like i was in a reality show.
My friend and i were laughing at how surreal it was, there were photographers and the trainer was like the host of the whole show rofl.
My other friend, let's call him A, he planned to create a twist and decided to call his mom up on stage to apologise. He even put eye drops to force himself to "cry". Turns out, when he called his mother on stage, he ended up sobbing really really hard. He apologised for all the bad things he did and when he came down he didn't dare to talk to any of us lol.
When the whole thing ended he tweeted, "I let out my emotions after so long...felt so tranquil. haha the irony is that I apologize for these mistakes.tml night it all happens again."

I can honestly say that even though their life stories gave me goosebumps, and i felt very sad for them of course, but deep down inside i doubted whatever they were saying. I get it, some of them really mean what they say. But most of the seniors told me that this whole "crying session" they made us go through isn't very effective. Sure it made us cherish our parents more, but the motivation usually doesn't stay long. At least for the most of them, anyway.
Hopefully it will last on me. :)

After the whole sharing session, they asked us to go stand by our parents and the whole hall sang a song together. I saw most of the students hugging their parents and crying, real bad. I felt kinda guilty for laughing but then again, will this even last?

I'm very close to my parents, especially my mom. I tell her everything that goes on in my life, so for me to say "i love you" to her isn't really hard. But for me to say it to my dad, it's kind of awkward, but after this camp it wasn't anymore. :)

Before we attended the workshop our teachers admitted that the things they teach are only effective for the first half of the year. When some of them thanked their teachers, most of them plastered a smile on their faces and i bet their minds were thinking "We'll see about that..." haha.

My arms hurt, my hands hurt, my whole body hurts from the "goal setting" yesterday. We had to write down our goals on this piece of paper and hold it up, right in front of us, with our arms straight, for 20 minutes. It was pure torture, we were lucky that it was raining, because for the NA classes they had to stand under the hot sun and do it for a full hour. Imagine doing that!

If all of us hadn't done the final countdown together, i would've stood there and cry.
I didn't bend my arms at all, i wanted to prove to myself that these goals are the ones that i WILL achieve. It's something that i REALLY want. It was seriously painful, i kept screaming and screaming during the whole 20 minutes. Some gave up along the way, some teared, and some even danced! Haha!

Overall, i really enjoyed this camp. The whole of 4G1, 4G2 and 4G3 got closer than ever, we cried, we laughed and we stuck together throughout the three meaningful days.
I do hope all of us will study hard and excel for our O's! ^^

Oh, and before i leave.

This is Nisa, the girl whom i had the most fun with in the past three days. ^^

Quality vs Quantity.

Saturday, January 21, 2012 // 0 comments

When will the school ever learn that the quality of the teachers are more important than the quantity of them?

So many teachers have left us this year, GOOD teachers.
Teachers who have helped me and motivated me to do well for my year-end examinations.
Teachers who were willing to answer my never-ending questions.
Teachers who would print out their own notes for us, instead of relying on the textbooks.
Teachers who knew how to grab our attention, especially those who fall asleep in class.
Teachers who care for us so much, even our personal lives.
Teachers who would share their experiences with us, interesting ones, not boring ones.
Teachers who knew you were facing stress/family problems just by looking at you for one second.
Teachers who always have a smile plastered on their faces from the start til the end of the day, even though we know deep down inside, they're tired.

These teachers have left a huge footprint in my life, and i will never forget them.
I would rather have a teacher who calls us to stay back after school than have a teacher who talks nonsense in class. Like literally, nonsense that's not even related to our syllabus.

Sigh.

On a side note, Happy Chinese New Year to all those who celebrate CNY! :-)
I'm currently in Malaysia now, but i'll be going back on Tuesday. The school won't approve my request for a one day leave on Wednesday.... bummer.

xoxo

A new start.

Saturday, January 14, 2012 // 0 comments

School started two weeks ago and i barely survived the first week, every single teacher stepped into the classroom on the first day and reminded us about O levels. I have had several dreams for the past few nights which had the words 'O levels' in it.

Speaking of O levels, the results of the batch last year had a great improvement compared to their previous batch. Teachers are expecting an even greater improvement from us. Most of my teachers are expecting me, the top student of last year, to score less than 10 points for my L1R5 aggregate. This adds on to the immense pressure I'm already facing.

Every day in school, I walk around feeling like I have too many things to do. The amount of homework I get is never-ending, and I haven't started talking about my tuition homework. All of us have to attend remedials every day, school starts at 7.30am and ends at 4pm, how on earth will I manage my time?

The worst thing is, my weekends are packed with school, tuition, and homework. Yes, I have to attend Physics remedial every
Saturday morning. Then I rush back home and off to my Chinese tuition. My O level Chinese paper is less than 6 months and I barely have time to revise Chinese every single day. My goal Is to score an A1 for it, so that I can forget about Chinese and focus on my other subjects til the end of this year.

Because of this, I have made several sacrifices to manage my time. For a start, I've quit tumblr. I stopped logging in for 14 days ever since school started, of course I do miss reblogging edits and nice photos but what choice do I have? It's O levels we're talking about here!

Next, I have left the Kpop fandom. No tumblr = no updates on Kpop. Occasionally I do read some Kpop news online but I'm too lazy to care lol. I already regretted wasting so much money on junk like albums, photo books, posters, etc. I've already sold my SNSD album, and if you would like to buy some albums, do contact me! I'm sure we can work something out haha. :-)

Some changes have been made in the school as well. For instance, my Amath teacher is now a hilarious and sarcastic teacher. Even though most of my classmates dislike his way of teaching, I think he's a great teacher because he believes in us. He has a champion mindset, just like the rest of my subject teachers. In fact, they can actually turn a pessimistic student into an optimistic student! I really appreciate their faith in us and I certainly do not wish to let them down.

Of course, I do miss some of my teachers who left Northbrooks. Namely, Ms Faith Ong! She was the best teacher who took care of us and brought us up to Sec 3, I was on cloud nine when I saw her today at the bus stop on my way home! Ahhh I miss her smile so much, she'll always ask me to smile everyday cause I'm not a very happy person when I'm in school lol. Oh, and our beloved principal, Mrs. Oh left us as well, her goal to improve on our English came true! Most of the students last year scored distinctions for their O level English! She has made such a huge difference in not just the results, but the students as well! I really do miss her dramatic speeches every time she speaks on stage lol. School will never be the same without her and Ms Ong. :-(

To sum up this wordy post, I hope I'm not too late to wish everyone a happy school year and a great 2012 ahead of you! Whether it's college, uni, or a new secondary school, always look on the bright side and all the best! :-)
